Are you 65 years or older and looking for a special companion? Does the thought of an energetic kitten overwhelm you? Do you still long for companionship and wish for someone to sit on your lap while you watch your favorite Hallmark movies? The Heart of Minnesota Animal Shelter will waive adoption fees for senior citizens that adopt senior cats (10 years or older). An adoption application is still required. We often have cats that come into our care as strays or because their owners have passed away. These cats are often more mellow and chill than their younger counterparts. They happily use their litter boxes and some of them even know a few tricks. Come and meet our seniors today and see if we have a match for you!
This form must be complete prior to the adoption of a cat or dog. This information will help HMAS achieve its goal of finding permanent, responsible, loving homes for the animal in its care and allow HMAS to better assist you in finding a pet will-suited to your life. Regrettably, the needs of some animals may not be compatible with every home, so the HMAS reserves the right to refuse/deny adoptions.
